Warhounds Bluzing A Trail.

Hmm, that pun doesn't quite work but never to mind.

Having taken on board some suggestions I have re-designed the weapon fits on my Warlord Titans and have subsequently cut down to three Warlords to make sure they all have four weapons. Just a couple of pictures of them to show what they look like with the new loadouts.

The Titans have all been re-named and have canonical names from 'Mechanicum' and 'Titanicus' by Messrs. McNeill and Abnett.

To prove that I've started painting here is a picture of a sloppy Warhound pack, who've just received their second coat of Cygnar Blue Highlight. Not having any black or silver paint I can't really go on very far from here currently.

Next up is to base the Warlords, prime them, the Imperator and the Reavers then get bluing. I'm tempted to get a spray gun except I've no money and nowhere to spray.

Titans, Knights And Guard. Oh My!

Almost all my eBay goods have turned up now and so I know have seven plastic Knight Paladins, and I've got to say I love this models. Although they're a little monopose I like them, if I had the skillz to cut and re-pose them I would, but I don't so I won't. Don't want to ruin their lovely OOP beauty. These guys will most likely be used as Forge Knights from the TacComms Legio Gryphonnicus list.

Although it took them a while my Forgeworld Warhounds turned up the other day, and I lost a planned painting day to assembling these beauts. As you can no doubt tell I assembled the one on the left first, and these are my second and third ever Forgeworld minis. Hence the crap posing. I could re-do them, but they'll do for now, if I ever get another pair I'll take more time in posing them.

I got this Warhound in the deal that got me the other old style Warhound, but this one came without weapons. A bit of jiggery pokery with a Plasma Gun and a Reaper Autocannon gives me a game legal Warhound with a Vulcan Mega Bolter and a Plasma Blastgun. Its not the best conversion and its a bit lopsided looking but it'll do for now.

I also re-posed the stock SG Warhound that I've got, as he had been looking quite awkward. Although in this pic he looks like he's falling down its not so in real life.

Finally is a taster of what else is to come in the next couple of weeks...

I hate drilling out weapon barrels. Something that can easily be seen by my crappiness in drilling them out.

Lucius Reaver

I was hoping to show a PiP Titan up here but the primer I used on it has come out incredibly thickly and so the Titan in question has gone in the paint stripper for a wee bath to think about what he's done.

So in its place I have another naked model to show you - this time a Forgeworld Lucius Pattern Reaver Titan, as yet unamed.

I read Dan Abnett's 'Titanicus' the other night, and as well as being a tupping brilliant book its given me lots of ideas for canonical Legio Tempestus names. After all its only logical that the God Machines of the Storm Lord would date back to the days of the Great Crusade, if not long before.

Until next time, GLORIAM IMPERATOR!

Legio Tempestus

More God Machines arrived from the colonies this morning, despite Her Majesty's Customs' officers best attempts otherwise.

Names have yet to be devised for this batch, but the Whisky-Macs last night made Latin impossible today.

First up we have what will become the Knights of Tanaris, though I'm hoping to get some of the more Titan-esque ones soon. They're fairly dumpy little models but I like the little buggers, they're rather characterful and very 'old' GW.

Next up is the beginnings of my Warhound Pack, I prefer the older model to the newer one, its much sturdier looking. I have a second old style Warhound, but unfortunately no weaponry for him. If anyone happens to have any lying about please let me know.

Then a fairly bog standard Reaver, though with differing epaulettes as he arrived thusly.

Followed swiftly by another Warlord, this will be the penultimate Warlord, as I want one of the modern ones to join the others I already have. I prefer the look of these blockier Warlords, but this guy has a mishmash of weapons from his own kit and the plastic Warlord kit.

Finally we have....

IMPERATOR!!!

Imperator Titan,Plastic Imperator,Epic,Epic Armageddon,Warhammer 40K,Space Marine,Specialist Games,Games Workshop

I'd forgotten how big this beast is, his legs are taller than a standard Space Marine. The data card that came with him is tupping huge.

With a bit of luck it'll start to warm up here in Aberdeen soon so I'll be able to prime these boys and get some paint on them. The next planned additions to the force are some Forgeworld Epic Warhounds and Reavers as they offer some more options for weaponry. That and the fact that the Forgeworld Epic Warhounds look amazing. In fact they are hopefully en route from Forgeworld as I type...

Until next time, GLORIAM IMPERATOR!

Master Severus, Update.

Morning!

This will be the first of two posts today, this being the shorter by far. I'll aim to get the second one up this afternoon.

This post is just to show an update in the conversion of my Dark Elf Battle Standard Bearer - Master Severus of the Tower of Blessed Dread. Since I last posted pictures of him I've sorted out his wrist and given him a Great Weapon. I had originally built it from a chopped down Dark Elf spear, but it looked a bit pants so I've given him a cutla
ss from the Black Ark Corsair sprue. I think it looks alot better, and it also makes him fit into the Corsair themed army alot more. I'm toying with the possibilty of using greenstuff to give him a Sea Dragon Cloak, even though I have no intention of giving him one in game, it'd just help to further tie him into the theme of the army.

Severus, Battle Standard Bearer.

Evening.

Just a quick one here to show you my Battle Standard Bearer for my new Warhammer Fantasy army - Dark Elves of the Tower of the Blessed Dread. The army shall be led by Lokhir Fellheart and I've a 1,500pts army list drawn up to build over the next few months.

Currently though I've got the best part of ten Dark Elves armed with Repeater Crossbows and my WiP Battle Standard Bearer - Severus, Master of the Tower of Blessed Dread. I've used the crest and banner from the Cold One Knight boxed set, the
standard top is from the Black Ark Corsairs box. The original model is the new Dark Elf Dreadlord with Great Weapon. I want my BSB to have a Great Weapon with his Standard so I'm currently working on how to give him his Draich and not look too cluttered up.

I'd like to know what you think of him.

God Machines.

'And lo, clothed in a skin of iron and armed with a spear of fire did the Emperor walk amongst His children.'

I really wanted to write that in Latin but it'd've been too much work to translate it all. I could imagine that being something said when the God Machines of the Adeptus Mechanicus are awoken to walk to war. Why am I posting Imperial liturgy? Because I have Titans! Epic scale mind you, as much as I'd love a Warhound or Reaver from Forgeworld I don't th
ink my landlord would appreciate the lack of rent, or indeed the extra tenant.

I got these bad boys in a trade with a gentleman over on the 40K Freebootaz Forum, and for that I'm very grateful. I've had them for about a week now but had exams to do before I went near them. The first thing I noticed about them, over than the coloured plastic, was just how soft the plastic was. I started cutting and filing away the excess material and had to be very careful not to consign some parts of the model to oblivion.

Unfortunately the majority of the weapons on these guys are obsolete these days as their rules don't exist anymore, but I'm sure if I do field these in a friendly game of Epic that I'll be able to use the older rules for them using some of the older weapons.

I've got some more Titans arriving from the US next week, amongst them the colossus that is the Imperator, but for now I'll show you the three Warlord Titans that I currently have. The plan is to paint them in the colours of the Legio Tempestus as after reading
about them in 'Mechanicum' it was impossible not to paint them like that.

First up is Addo Verum, Warlord Titan of the Legio Tempestus, armed with a Las Burner, a Laser Blaster and a Gatling Blaster. As you can see I had some trouble opening up the lower barrel of the Las Burner, but I've never had to cut out a squared gun barrel before so I think its allowed.

Plastic Warlord,Beetleback Warlord,Warlord Titan,Mk I Warlord,Epic,Epic Armageddon,Space Marine,Specialist Games,Games Workshop,Warhammer 40K

Next we have
Ares Irae, Warlord Titan of the Legio Tempestus armed with a Melta Cannon, Power Fist and a Vortex Missile. Anyone who remembers Epic will remember the Vortex Missile well I'm sure... I've not done anything to the barrel of the Melta Cannon as I don't want it to end up like the Las Burner barrel, so it will most likely be painted in.

Plastic Warlord,Beetleback Warlord,Warlord Titan,Mk I Warlord,Epic,Epic Armageddon,Space Marine,Specialist Games,Games Workshop,Warhammer 40K

Finally we have the muscle of the battle group,
Opus Imperator, Warlord Titan of the Legio Tempestus armed with a Volcano Cannon, a Titan Multipile Rocket Launcher, a Chain Fist and a Plasma Destructor.

Warlord Titan,Warhammer 40K,Beetleback Warlord,Mk I Warlord,Epic Armageddon,Epic,Specialist Games,Games Workshop,Space Marine,Plastic Warlord

So there you go, the first battle group of the Legio Tempestus, charged with bringing the Imperial Truth to the unenlightened worlds of the Great Crusade. Brownie points to the first person to translate the names of the Titans, additional points may be awarded for any errors found in my Latin, which are highly probable.

Until next time, GLORIAM IMPERATOR!
